What has helped you the most with relief from neck pain?
I had such bad neck pain and I did everything. I tried the neck pillows, I tried massage therapy, and then we went to a harvest festival in town and it was super hot. And I remember I was with the kids and I saw this tent with Hand in Hand. And I was like, might as well just try it out. And found out Dr. Kara was a neck specialist. And I said, might as well try it.
And then when I first came in, also found out I had severe scoliosis, which I kind of knew I had, but didn’t really. So she’s like, ‘This is a bigger issue than just your neck.’ And I haven’t had neck pain since.
I worked from home a couple of days. I was sitting crouched over so often that I developed severe neck pain one day and I couldn’t even lift my head off the pillow. And that was, I think, seven years ago. So I lived through severe neck pain, even with my two kids. I had crazy neck pain. I just thought it was the new way of life. And then I met Dr. Kara and learned it wasn’t.
What has chiropractic care been like for your family?
And [my children] come here too, so does my husband. So [my older child] is eight, or almost eight, she’s seven and a half. And [my younger child] is four and [my older child] has a little bit of scoliosis too. So we started getting her in. [My younger child] doesn’t sleep. So Dr. Kara said, might as well get her a little bit of adjustment. And then my husband’s a football coach. So he obviously carries a lot of stress. He mentioned he had… he had knee surgery so he tore his ACL & meniscus, ACL, MCL, everything. And she did this adjustment and he’s like, ‘I completely feel different.’ So we were all hooked on the first time.
He’s no longer snoring, which is amazing for both of us.
[My kids] love Dr. Kara. They actually asked to get adjusted now. So the first time, [my older child], she wouldn’t even get in the room out here. She would only wanna be adjusted in the private room. And now she’s jumping on the table. She wants to be first. They’re fully engaged. They ask me, they’re like, ‘My neck hurts,’ or ‘My back is a little bit stiff. Can we go see Dr. Kara?’
What do you value the most about your chiropractor, Dr. Kara?
It’s Dr. Kara. She’s amazing woman. She has an amazing energy. She remembers everything. I don’t know how she remembers everything. Even the slightest tweak that you had last week, just a random part of your back that was a little misaligned. She’s like, ‘Hey, how’s that one spot doing?’ And she just always on. So it’s fun to come in. Even when I’m not on and I’ve had a day with the kids, she is just a light of fresh air and happiness.
